Change is the transition from the current state of a situation to the desired state, with the use of resources that we have available.
With the years and the experience we acquire skills, which together with the resources should accompany us in the change, right?
So what blocks us in this process? What prevents our resources from working and helping us to change a situation, a behaviour that no longer works?
The most difficult thing in using resources for change is not at the level of ability but at the level of beliefs.
DO I REALLY WANT TO CHANGE?
We have clear the current state of things;
we have identified what is not working;
so the things we want to change.
Changing means leaving something certain for something that we do not know yet if it will bring improvements. We said that it takes energy and courage to get involved.
But am I sure I want to change???
A- I don’t want change.
Let others adapt to me! It is not my fault if the situation is like this.
I stay in the comfort zone, I’m not even aware of what prevents me from changing
and that’s fine with me.
B- I don’t know how to change.
I’ve always done like this and I don’t know where to start. And what happens if I’m wrong?
This could be a good opportunity to ask for help, have you ever thought about it?
Becoming aware of how it works, finding out which resources you can count on and how to overcome yours limiting constraints could be of great help.
C- I don’t give myself the opportunity to change.
These things do not work with me, I’m a rare case, I have already tried them all …
I boycott myself, I don’t allow myself the opportunity to change.
There is a conditioning behind this, would you like to know what it is?
D-Yes, I’m ready!
I can’t take this anymore, I keep repeating the same mistakes.
At this point I guess I’m the one who’s wrong.
I ask for help and I put energy and will to go further!
It is never the limit itself that blocks self-realization , but the attachment to that idea that we have of ourselves. We remain attached to what hurts us and we resist to what could make us feel better.
