Amsterdam, the European denim capital, is a city where the industry insiders are most able to get together denim practitioners, designers and brands to denim consumers.
Jean School is an education Institute where young and creative people are trained to be able to work at the design and production of denim weaving mills, denim laundries, denim manufacturers, denim brands and retailers.
The Denim Window is a showroom dedicated to the world of the blue gold, sustainability and innovation. They are all about Denim and they select a few companies able to showcase their products in their location, where students, creatives, designers and product developers are invited to visit and review their designs.
The topic of the denim workshop was about exploring the authenticity of the self through a denim experience which awakes the inner creativity.
At first, through music, images and garments from the denim world, I let the participants choose an image that would represent them. After that, in groups of 3 we talked, listened and observed what we were feeling and thinking and we gave feedbacks on our reactions and emotional state.
We learned that creativity becomes a necessary resource when a company, in any industry, needs to identify future strategies and new business ideas.
Rational method and creativity are the winning mix to achieve success in companies. The right amount of reason and imagination must be found to get to the accomplishment aimed.
